Traffic Crimes

Traffic crimes include DUII, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief, Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run), and Driving While Suspended. These crimes are usually Class A misdemeanors and carry up to a one-year jail sentence, and a $6,250.00 fine. They also usually result in the suspension or revocation of a driver’s license.

It is not unusual for Driving While Suspended crimes to be reduced to violations, obviating a criminal conviction.

Crimes such as Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run) can sometimes be civilly compromised and resolved without a conviction.
